no need to worry, if some one say it is realty. Cinema is an art and mage for the viewers. if u dont like it . dont worry. slumdog teach us how to reach oscar. the movie is made for the western viewers (and for oscar also). viewers are always prejudice when watching the movie. slums are the culture started in west and spread in to third world contry also. as an indian viewer, this movie is an cult movie. the problem is not with slumdog but with the western world , who always think india is a big slum. west is not ready to accept success of india (whatever % is it). like ramsy horror movie , dada kndke movie, yash raj films , ghai style movie, manmohan style movie, this is another style of movie. personally in my view , if oscar are not rating movie like " A wednesday" , the oscar like award are worthless. I support Big B view.. last year when bheja fry, johney gaddar, sahar, mumbai express , aamir, metro, ets are not recognised by our own filmfare award, I underrated the filmfare award. that is all. if u dont like something, dont cry, just underrate it.
