The screen image says it all - this is going to be one hell of a violent serial with characters constantly jumping at each other's throats. When you say 'Mahabharat' what comes to mind first is the serene image of Lord Krishna explaining the philosophy of life to Arjuna. Bhishma's deathbed discourses on the art of statecraft, Karna's unblemished character that even Krishna could not equal, Bheema's awesome Shiva bhakti, Dronacharya's bravery... the list of people and events what makes the great Mahabharata unforgettable is endless.
Now we have to sit and gape in impotent rage as the nut Ekta Kapoor takes this glorious epicc and reduces it to a travesty of fighting people, senseless dialog, an excrutiatingly long Vastraharan scene with generous cleavage... in short a mere drama devoid of philosophy and moral excellence that makes the Mahabharata so dear to all of us. Ekta is a specialist in saas-bahu fighting scenes and I am sure Kunti and Draupadi are going to have some hot fights on-screen, with other female characters egging them on. What a friggin' travesty. On the other hand, pakis and their ilk are sure to enjoy this super dumbed-down epic saas-bahu duel conducted in chaste Hindi.
