Here is what you miss. There can be a DRESS code on private properties. If you are working for a private company, then they can mandate a dress code. It is their property. It is no different than you mandating things at your own home.
But when it comes to public property, you cannot legislate a dress code. If you try to do that, it will be severe on females. There will be different rules for men and woman. It has to be left to the individual to make good decisions.
If we legislate "Dress Codes" then we will have to enforce those rules. The Police will do that ? More corruption and bribery ?
What dress do you choose ? Some prefer Shalwar Khameez, some prefer a Saari. Some prefer a full sleve blouse some with half sleve...some tie the saari above the N@val, some below...There is too much variation to have a standard rule.
We must educate our families, our children and our relatives to make the right choices in life. We should not extend our authority over others.
So what the Iranians or the Saudi or the Taliban did w.r.t. dresscode was correct ?
