"Hogenakal" is derived from Tamil. Most of the Tamil words staring with consonent 'P' starts with 'H' in the Kannada derivatives. This much is part of Tamil/ Kannada etymology.

HOGE's origin POGE/POHAI/Pugai in various forms of spoken/written tamil. Similarly "KAL" means rock in Tamil.

Anyway the origin of the word hardly matters here. What is needed is an equitable solution to the problem between the neighbors..
