Frankly the voilence in the movie is almost cartoonish , something your kid has already witnessed on cartoon network or a video game. there are couple of love scenes though chopped heavily by the censors , might be little too much for a 8 year old . take him to "bridge to terabathia" instead . you and ur kid will enjoy it more than 300 trust me.
