RE:Why New York and Not India ?
by ruchi singhal arora on Aug 21, 2007 01:14 AM

Hi Pooja,

I attended the 'evening in New York. Amitji's opening remark that evening was that he was,"a bit sad b'coz he was planning a similar function in India on 27th November on the occasion of his father's birth centenary, but Bhartiya Vidya Bhavan organized it before that". He is aware of the feelings of his fans in India but also regards the efforts of organizations like the Bhavan that is one of the foremost torchbearers of Indian culture abroad. Its mission justifies an event like this out of India, and am only glad that Amitji understood the significance of this literary event in NY.

I would suggest that before succumbing to abuse please research thoroughly. Nobody wants to mint money on their parents' name; would u do that? So, why would a person of such a stature? But, even if he does, am confident, that the money is surely diverted to well meant literary, cultural or charitable purposes which perhaps no media knows and thus even we remain unaware.
