Wasted creativity and wasted money
by mast male on May 06, 2007 04:55 PM

This movie is most disappointing. The promos promised so much (and the concept in itself is good), but the execution is haphazard to say the least.
There is absolute lack of chemistry between Saif and Rani.
The characters are all one-dimensional. They are either good (Saif, Rani, Javed Jaffrey) or bad (Victor Banerjee, Bharat Dabholkar, Rusty). Poor characterization and no justification is given for their behavior.
Most events in the movie seem forced. Apart from the style and setting there is no heart and emotion...even though they try hard to do so, it falls flat. Not even the kids are able to involve you in the proceedings.
The message of 'Being happy through your troubles' and 'Saving for a rainy day' is stated so often and so simplistically that it completely fails to create an impact.
The climax is absolutely cliched and evokes a yawn.
Ms. Verma, if such crap makes you feel good, then you must really be sick.
