Probably it was because the film was originally 5 and ahalf hours long and shortened now... it moves too fast in the beginning, almost as if the director wants to just somehow tell us the whole story in a half hour!! so we were not able to connect with the actors at all. of course rani and big B were great. it was so funny when during the ending and all those dialogues between big B and his brother were going on and hema malini suddeny relaizing her mistake and apologizing, the entire theatre burst into laughter rather than reach out for tissues!! that says enough about the effectiveness of the film.
