Babul is in fact a women oriented movie. This wont be a hit but this year many movies were not a hit for example sooraj barjatya's Vivaah, that too is women oriented movie. Both these movies have been made with love, tender care and with good intentions.
Critics may run down Babul and to some extent the successful Vivah, but this are very much Indian movie and I sincerely respect the makers of Babul and Vivah because this movies stir your heart. They explore that part of women which unfortunately hollywood will never be able to do so...to hell with oscars, to hell with critics who run down such movies, to hell with those who say cinema needs great technique, my full marks to Babul and Vivah...keep it up...this are the movies that one can watch with family and feel proud of and yes , we really really reallllly need these kind of cinema.
