Dude, Pilots get high salaries, not because of the short supply, but because of the risk and SKILL involved. Skill to keep the aircraft flying in absense 'GUIDING SYSTEMS'. If a doctor makes the mistake, only the patient suffers, but if the pilot makes a mistake, 400 people along with him die... One needs to realise that Pilots job is very demanding and NOT TO BE TAKEN FOR GRANTED! And ask yourself a question... Would you fly in a plane which did not have a pilot in the front seat, and was flown by automation?
