99% of the higher educational institutions started over the past 15 years are promoted by politicians or persons who have a clout in the political parties. They do not meet many of the criteria and standards set for these institutions. They construct huge buildings out of money fleeced from the students and parents, but do not employ quality faculty and good training facilities like well equipped lab., etc. They hire incompetent teachers without proper qualifications and the students' quality of knowledge suffers. They also admit students with low qualifiying marks if their parents are able to cough up the heavy amount demanded by these institutions. That is why these poor students suffer when they go for employment.
Employers particularly IT companies and BPOs have to show certain staff strength to get orders and they mindlessly recruit these poorly qualified graduates only to shatter their confidence by ill-treating them and posting them in jobs for which they do not have aptitude.
Statutory bodies entrusted with the task of supervising these institutions should honestly discharge their function and ensure that these institutions meet all norms set by the Government.
