RE:Parents To Blame
by Arpan Roy on May 01, 2008 01:35 PM

Will you not want your children to work for a reputed company at a reputed post with a handsome salary ? Will you not teach them the difference in the job profile of an executive and a coolie ? Do YOU treat the hawker in a bus with due respect? Do YOU like to see the face of the salesman when you are enjoying your afternoon siesta(when the MBA salesman is just aiming to fulfil his target)??Will you like your son to tell you that he would rather avoid studies and sell life insurance policies(because he has not been taught that being a salesman is the worst thing to do)????

Mr. Aadi Manav, we are not reformers and no parents are. We can't and change the outlook of Indian government or make India a developed nation. It is not possible to change the outlook of Indian society all of a sudden. Its always practical and preferable to try and do a respectable job because "When you go to Rome you should do as the Romans do". If you want to reform them, you will only end up being left out and I will be there to say "Hats Off to your sincere effort !"

P.S - If you know any means by which India can become at par with US & Japan and we can have dignity of labour within the time our children grow up, please let us know at the rediff forum.
