More Educated Indians Need to Become Entrepreneurs
by Mehul Kamdar on May 02, 2008 02:34 AM

The cases reported by Rediff are extremely sad and they do seem to mirror what happens when people get a good education but want to go to the job security that their parents enjoyed. As someone who is much older than these young people (and unashamed to say less bright than today's students) I think that many of these young people could try to become entrepreneurs and do well by themselves and without having to endure the kind of degrading treatment that they are getting from their jobs as the article describes. Yes, entrepreneurship is difficult. But is what they are doing now any less difficult?

Indians are intelligent and hard working people. There is no reason why they should not be able to succeed as entrepreneurs by their own efforts. They would do well and India would also benefit as a country. The older generations will die out in the future. The young can make a significant difference in the future. These smart kids need to read Inc, Money and other magazines on the subject at their nearest American Center LIbrary or similar to get ideas and implement them in their own lives.

When that happens, they will find old dinosaurs like me clapping hardest to congratulate them.
