Our Honourable FM needs to listen to criticism and feedback even if it is coming from arch-rivals or maverick politicians or even the Left.
Further the Finance Ministry needs to stop threatening the tax payers - how many half-page ads were carried out intimidating the assessees? Besides, the Finance Minister himself keeps bullying the taxpayer by saying 'if you try to cheat, we will find out'. Is it not a fact that only the salaried class is paying the taxes correctly? Others are evading or avoiding(by exploiting the rules).
And what does a honest taxpayer get in return? Nothing but ridicule. At least if there is some priority in queues (railway booking, banks, airports, IT refunds,Government offices..), it will be befitting. Perhaps the only place where it matters is a taxpayer gets 'A' class when imprisoned!!
