It's always easy to blame other for our mistakes and what I said about commies, caste-less society in bengal was purely in that context. I never said commies have made Bengal a caste-less. What I meant was "atleast they didn't do anything to disturb the status-quo in Bengal" even if they indulged in reservation or minorityism elsewhere in the country. To that extent, commies have played ball with a caste-less bengal. It is true that bengal has produced great thinkers and revolutionists like Raja Rammohun Roy, Vivekananda, etc. But of what use is talking about the past when we live in the present. I love Bengal as much as any other Bengali but I am really saddened by the ills confronting the society in Bengal today. And I repeat, blaming it on the commies alone would too simplistic. After all, who voted the commies to power repeatedly?
