Land aquisition
by Tom Dick on Jul 31, 2008 07:59 PM

In order to bring industry or develope road/rail net work, we need land a lot of it. No one is going to offer his land/house of his free wiil. So the only thing the companies / railway etc which wants the land must make an offer which people cannot refuse. In all these cases we see the compensation offered is hardly sufficient to shift to a new locality leave alone make a new house. So make the offer which will attract the people to offer(rehabilitation, new houses, jobs etc) their land on their own. Make a law that if a good majority, say 66% agree then the govt should be able aquire the remaining land without any hinderance. The companies buying land should not expect to et it very cheap because the price is going to increase shortly after the factory/rail etc start functioning and hence their worth also goes up.
