There will be a boom in snatching, robbery and burglary because 5 Southern states are facing DROUGHT of the CENTURY till 20-07-08. Maharastra has already declared that this drought is worse than that of 1972.50% of the Maharashtr is parched. The same is the case in other southern states. Places in South India where the rainfall has been about 30 cms a year have hardly got 9 cm of rainfall. June July is peak season. If there is a cyclone which the farmers are begging to their dieties then there will be no problem. The monsoon is playing hide and seek game but our great economists will talk of boom in GDP to 12% and all. Even an old farmer in the drought hit states says the the worst days are yet to come because next rains can be expected only in June/July of 2009. The water table has gone down to such an extent that there is no water even at 300 meters down in many of the Southern states who contribute the most to the GDP. When there will be DROUGHT of the CENTURY how do you expect a boom in economy is a million dollar question?
