Alexandar and Lord Clive
by Narendra Tade on Jan 31, 2008 10:18 PM

Alexander - arguably - the first Invader of India (some historians point to Darius) and later on Lord Clive's army - both succeeded in defeating Indians not because they were supirior in warfare - but because an Indian supported them in defeating a fellow Indian. The 'Dog in the Manger' attitude of our's is surfacing again - as appears from the reading of a few of the previous posts. IT salary should come down, some are shouting themselves hoarse.....reason - not known.
The weakening of dollar, layoff in US ....all that garbage is no reason for IT salaries to go down. If the payout on a variable component is reduced by TCS, that does not necessarily mean that all IT companies are to reduce the salaries, sorry to dishearten the doomsday-sayers.
TCS, in the IT field, is well known for their undercutting tactics and volume thrust approach. This has resulted, anyway, in a very compitive salary structure, those in IT industry, very well realize - that this kind of a module can not sustain even nominal economic slowdown pressures - that is showing. This cut, definitely, will remain only in TCS, that too, temporarily. so...Cheers
