CONCERN MAY BE GENUINE: SOLUTION TOO simplistic
by sanjay arun kumar on Jan 18, 2008 11:08 PM

The writer's concern about falling standard of education is quite genuine. But the solution he is prescribing is totally out of context. A Ph.D thesis awarded with a degree years back has nothing to do with teachers' performance in a class room. The findings of a Ph.D theis expires on the date of submission of thesis.
As a matter of fact in India, except the researcher himself, no body (including his supervisor and the examiner) reads it. The two participants, mentioned above, have their own reason to get involved with the farce.
This statement is equally valid for a thesis submitted in JNUs, IITs and/ or any 'mufasil' university in India.
