Cars are not about ego, ITS about economics. Small cars give Rs 2.5 to Rs 3 per km which means if full family travels then 0.75 Rs at most per km. On a bike it is 0.5 Rs per km. Just the initial cost is prohibitive but that is the price for safety factor. the difference in purchasing power between those who buy upto santro and the people who will buy Nano is not much as both buy on loan. And how will Nano reduce ego of people who feel "ego" with their cars if someone else buys a NANO?
