This post of mine may sound a bit too (or three) late but I would like to put forth my views.
It is a known fact that the majority of politicians led by the great HDD & family had stake in the location or nearby and hence the airport bordering Andhra Pradesh (a la Electronic City bordering Tamil Nadu) that too at a distance of 35 km was thrust on the people of Karnataka at an enormous cost. Those who do not own cars or chauffers will be paying through their nose.
Would someone kindly clear my following doubt?
Why did the leaders not plan a airport near Ramnagaram or Bidadi or Kanakapura where plenty of land was available? Had they build an airport near any of these locations, it would have been easily accessible to most of the people right from Mysore also, which is a second rung IT city. In addition, there would have been phenominal growth of this belt. Alas! Now all that is history.
I would be thankful if someone tells me if I am right in my thinking; then would anyone tell me as to why the powers to be have played with public money and comfort? On the contrary, if I am wrong in my thinking, please give your views & put me on the right path.
