Julius Ceasar, I think, said that Romans needed bread and circuses. So do our media and even Rediffmail. Advertisement is their bread and Shri Laluprasad Yadav is clowning for their circus. He has his positives, no doubt. He has converted Indian Railways into Bihar's privately owned corporation, filling not only the trains with Biharis leaving that state for every destination in India, but also filling the jobs in the Railways with his country cousins. He is a lucky man, too. With him as the captain the railways have made a profit. But is it because he holds the helm, or is it because the favorable economic climate that boosted industrial production and gave the railways goods in sufficient qualntities so that a surplus over the expenditure was left in the balance sheet. I am sure that the directors of IIMs are not unaware of such simple management truth, but it pays to bow to the ruling deity, and that deity happens to be Shri Lalu Prasad ji Yadav
