I teach as a visiting faculty the subject of Operations management-(Production & Service)to MBA students in one of the Central Universities in Delhi. Students have to make presentations in form of team to the entire class; this takes place every week.I give a case study with questions to a team consisting of 5-6 students. They have to make a presentation with a Group leader introducing the team, salient features of the case study, approach they take and why and the results of the questions. The presentation is suitably divided into portions where every team members have to contribute and make a part of the presentation .In the end , the group leader has to brief the differing opinions, conflict resolution and negotiations and influencing aspects and the consensus presentation. In the end there are questions asked from the class mates and I give my feedback. Each one of them has to email me seperately the presentation and his own opinion and contribution on any particular issue of the case honestly ,that differs from others opinion with justifications. I worked in the industry for 20 years and have been switching over to management academics, where I want to form the bridge between academia and industry. The need of the industry, need of the students to work as a project team- with its 3 parameters; cost, time & performance has to be emphasized in all MBA papers and the integration of a subject with other subjects, e.g operations with marketing and HR and finance has to be taught
