1) All the mobile companies esp. pvt operators, when they reduce the tariff, they dont give the benefit of reduced tariff to customers, by default. Rather they ask the customers to send sms to opt for the reduced tariff. Till that time, customers not knowing about the change/reduced tariff is charged/looted at the higher rates. This practice would be understandable, if the reduced tariff comes with some condition attached with reduced tariff like monthly rental,etc. But when rates are reduced for all plans (like STD tariff reduction during the month of May 08, throughout the plans without asking for any monthly rental done by Vodafone, Airtel,etc.), it should be made mandatory for them to give the benefit to all immediately without waiting for customers’ acceptance if there is no linkage between the said reduction with any other conditions.
Ironically, the same companies when increase the call rates, they immediately hike the rates without intimating its customers.
TRAI plz look into the matter and do the needful to keep a control over network operators.
