Re: Who is going to benefit
by Harish Save on Dec 11, 2008 02:19 PM

This is not the case. I'm not saying that there will be no bad use of 3G technology, but the advantages are much more. As you pointed out that 3G has no use for poor people (BPL). Please consider following cases:

1. With fast data/voice/video transfer doctors and medical professionals can carry on their services in remote parts (villages) of our country where ONLY wireless technology can reach.

2. Same point applies to education. Remote and distant learning will be much easy. Village schools can be upgraded to city level education.

3. Cheap Broadband Internet can enable easy access to the information to everybody.

4. New technology always enables growth in the industry. Many new ventures will take place resulting in more jobs.

These are some important points. There are many more.

Imagine if we would have said no to computers, mobile phones, satellite television etc. where we would be now?

Remember technology is not bad. Good/Bad depends upon the people who use it.
