As 3G bids start, in parallel WiMAX bids are going to start. One of the technology is going to win in India. My gut feel is with WiMAX.

But high 3G bids from foreign companies would make Indian treasury happy.

GPRS technology is pretty useless even with edge enabled phones.

With 3G bids, government is going to make at least 20 billion dollars. If it doesn't succeed only losers are foreign carriers.
