I opened a bank account in ICICI Bank and SBI on the same day and that too in Mumbai. The ICICI Bank took 8 working days to activate. The SBI took 2 days to activate. In fact the SBI officials called me up on my mobile and confirmed the activation. I had to literally run behind the ICICI bank officials who feigned ignorance and passed the buck to some else.
