Is UPA govt to blame for price rise
by Radharamanan Panicker on Apr 25, 2008 11:21 AM

i dont think that UPA govt is to blame for price rise. it's our inherent greed which has caused the problem. Look back and see how much salary increment all the so called middle class people and upper middle people have got over last four to five years due to ever rising economic growth of the country. This has fueled demand for more goods especially the food items as more and more people are spending their money on such consumption items. Nobody complained then. Nobody complained when the govt employees got so much hike recently. Why then the farmers and traders not demand their pound of flesh. They will produce those items and sell those items which earns them higher income. Yes there are issues of traders hoarding food items, but then to which political parties do these trader owe allegiance. to BJP ofcourse. If BJP is so concerned why dont they target the traders who are hoarding goods. Let them gherao the traders and force them to offload stock in the market as Mayawati did in UP. They can't because then they will lose vote. this is similar to the stock market where as long as the market goes up for no reason or rhyme everybody is happy. But as soon as it falls, then the govt is to be blamed. The only difference is that poor and lower income people get really affected when prices go up whereas when market falls, it actually a notional loss.
