Sorry to read such an article. I totally disagree with what has been said When damodaran was sent to UTI he did nothing but to kill one great institution systematically with the help of DELHI Babus. when He joined UTI market was at 2900 today it at 18000. had the Govt to keep UTI in same way as it was functioning, today all losses would have had been recovered. The way the so called business daily has praised Mr. damodaran they should also try to find out how much the Govt has been benefited out of UTIs closure. Just to remind, that time GOVT had given help of Rs. 8000 crore to UTI and taken PSU stocks in their custody. (just an example, Sail was Rs. 7 at that time today it is 245). Today by selling this stock govt had already earned more than Rs. 16000/- crore(Story on CNBC few months back)and till now all strategic holdings are with GOVT waiting for disposal. can anybody findout howmuch GOVT has benefited and general US64 unitholders have lost? Is this not plain cheating by Govt? Can any newspaper/Channel digout the issue? I feel damodaran has been govt agent to carryout their agenda without any resistance . and every govt wants such people
