True to form in corporate India - the Lala kills the professional. Dr Trehan is a big man, and hence could fight back, though he had to ultimately leave. Ordinary Indians who work in Lala companies have no such recourse - they either suffer or leave the company. I once worked in a company that was a joint venture between an Indian entrepreneur and a US multinational at a fairly senior level, and thus had the opportunity / misfortune to witness and experience lala behaviour at close quarters. In countries like the UK and the US, such behaviour and action could be punished effectively and quickly through legal action, but not in India. I hope that one day the legal system in India would improve to bring the tormentors to book.
