getting medical insurance for lower premium
by Kiran Kumar A. K. on Apr 01, 2007 03:44 PM

The way I have found to get medical insurance for lower premium rates is through Bank. There are four govt insurance companies viz., United, Oriental, New India and ????. They have hooked up with various banks like in Karnataka, United is with Canara Bank (CanMediclaim), New India is with SBM (Dhanavantri) and so on. They give a floating insurance of Rs. 1 Lakh for a premium of Rs.1900, which will cover 4 people and Rs. 3100 for 6 people of family. Inculsion and exculsion list is very similar to other mediclaim insurance. It is also very simple and easy to get if you have account in bank. So check with your banks if they have such collabration with insurance companies.
