Shows the incapability of Management
by Ramesh Babu on Mar 07, 2007 02:02 PM

Finally the Air Passengers are taken for a ride. We are Guiney Pigs - right?. The Goverment didn't realise this before permitting so many airlines. Also allocating them slots within the peak hours.

Let us take a scenario of non peak hours. I travelled by Parmount from Bangalore to Chennai at 10.25 PM. This is supposed to be a non-peak hour according to govt. I stood in the security check in queue for more than 40 minutes to travel for 40 minutes. Amazing isn't it. What is the question of Peak and non-peak hours.

Does government have a regulatory mechanism to monitor what each airlines are doing.

Recently some of airlines are charging congestion charges. Ethically speaking they should collect it from the passenger only if the plane is struck up in the taxi way.

I recently travelled to Chennai to Rajmundry by Air Deccan. They charged me a congession fee for Rajamundry airport at 3.00 PM in the evening and that too this was the only flight in the whole airport.

Let the Government first regulate the airlines and define set of standard guidelines that everyone should follow.

Also improve the infrastructure of the airports.
Letus take that airlines and passengers are willing to pay the peak time fee. Will the goverment/AAI authority will allow them irrespective of what they can handle.

It is capacity Vs. management and not peak hour/ non peak hour.

First can we expect some guidelines for the airlines which leaves passengers in lurch?

Then let the government think of peak and non-peak hours.
