Impact of Stronger rupee
by b gopalan on Jul 25, 2007 12:16 PM

The article is a timely one & reflects the common man's concern. Regarding "With factors suggesting that the rupee could rise, we could see a scenario of an increasing percentage of goods and services being offered locally, which would lead to lower prices and hence curb inflation further" I feel the increased purchasing power of people will eventually lead to inflation. Consequent to the observation "Importers are benefitted" one cannot help doubting the existance of a racket.
The sad part of stronger rupee is the likely job-shedding activitie by the companies.
