What about misleading adds?
by Dr. Rakesh Chander Yashroy on Jul 13, 2007 03:57 PM

Majority of adds only entice the gullible customers into buying, firstly, he may not need. Secondly, the claimed attributes may not be achievable. Thirdly, some of them may covertly portray and competitor's product in bad light. Some adds like smoking may be avoidable for good health the society. Then, subtle ads in the text of the serials may show like drunk women with umpteen number of emptied wine glasses. Do these things really reflect our society, or their purpose is to ruin for increasing profits (alcohol manyfold increases risk of breast cancer in women) . No business inclding ads is good without ethics. Cola drinks make the bones porus (osteoporosis): the ads should also warn this. We are first human beings and then, professional or business people. Due care must be taken in this regard by those who matter in world of advertisement. Dr. RC YashRoy (PhD, Carl. Can.).
