It is quite annoying, having to procure so many different cards and numbers from so many different agencies. In this age of Microchip based cards, it will be more logical to do away with all these ancillary cards and issue a single microchip embedded card.It will contain all details of the individual,viz:Passport number, credit card number, PPF account, banking details, taxation and investment details etc. I think the average individual will be happily willing to pay the cost for getting this card, if it saves him time and efforts. Infact, the Voter's ID card was a very good step in collecting database from average citizens across rural and urban India. It is a pity that it was not implimented properly.
