NANO is a fantastic achievement. Like NANO the group has many laurels to boast of, which is a matter of pride for every Indian. 40 years back, for couple of years, I worked inside Tisco's plant on behalf of a private company. That is when I got direct exposure to TATA culture; Even the worker at the lowest level used to feel proud that he is working for TATA, which reminded me of the pride of ordinary Germans about Mercedez. Much before labor laws were introduced by government of India, Tata introduced the most modern laws & benefits for their employees. We all know, for many years, Bihar's law and order problem is acute; but like an oasis in the desert, it was not so in Jamshedpur, which I still consider to be one of the finest cities of India. If one visits the town office, that takes care of the township, he will come across various sayings of Jamshedji on development of townships; I was surprised by his modern ideas and care for the employees. Later on also my exposure with other Tata companies continued, while I was in Mumbai, when my company%u2019s business took me to Bombay house quite often. There on many occasions I came across the great JRD. Though I had nothing to do with him, his modesty, gentlemanliness, simplicity and care for the elderly staff (which included drivers and peons even) surprised me.
