RE:Well said ...
by idforarticlecommentssmailbox on Dec 26, 2007 03:11 PM

Did you just say Well said??? I think the article is confused about what is wants to convey! Just another catchy headline like several others on rediff without the content justifying the caption.

B-schools are "polishing" schools. They are NOT "teaching" schools. It is even mentioned in the article. Then why the umpteen headlines like "B-schools don't teach..."? To warm the hearts of non-MBAs to have them believe they haven't really missed out on much?! Please!

No doubt that there are serious issues in the way students are selected in an MBA course specifically in India but whoever said you dont learn teamwork, networking, leadership and blah blah in a B-school. They sure dont teach it. Thats NOT their job. But who says you dont learn them all the same??? You learn them even better because the tussle for leadership is even greater in a B-school! Either you take the lead, take charge, rough it out and emerge the winner or sulk in the background and perhaps write one of those "B-schools dont teach..." articles at a later stage in your life!

And whoever said changing your job and domain in the first 18-24 months makes you confused!? A lot of them are successful and are leading their companies to success right? So whats more important? Staying in a job/domain for 35 years and retiring with good pension or doing a bit better?
