The problem is that it is not possible not to have a divide between North and South. Why only North and South, there is a divide between North and East also. Everywhere there is a divide based on state. You know why? Because every state is different, with a different background and culture. Aryans and Dravidians cannot be the same. A bird and a fish cannot live together even if you try to make them ... nature does not allow that. India is not like the US. In the US everything looks and feels the same. The roads and shops in California are the same as in Texas and New York. Texas and California both pride themselves in belonging to the USA and not as Texas and California only. But in India a Bengali speaks ill of a Tamilian, a Tamilian speans ill of a Punjabi. A Bengali supports Ganguly, a Kannadiga supports Dravid. A Tamilian will never speak in Hindi, a Marathi will call a a Tamilian as 'South Indian'. We just cannot be 'one' my friends, being different is in our blood, in our background and culture. The only thing that we can do is tolerate each other and live like adults, not fight like children.
