Raman - I guess you need to do your maths right. By cutting the mandi, the middlemen (Two Layers) and the wholesaler off - Reliance and their ilk can still pay higher for the farmers' produce. This will make the farmers happy - remember agriculture gives 25% of Indian Economy and sustains 65% of Indian Employees (organized and unorganized sectors put together).

Once they buy at a lower rate (relative to current purchase rates), they can give to their consumers (like you and me) at a rate lower than current rates. Which means our vegetable and fruits cost can go down, which is an important component in our inflation concern.

What do you want - some unseen middle man live off the blood of the farmer or the farmer and you live with more disposable cash for investments/savings?

Use your own intellect and don't parrot a headless chicken's voice - he cries for votes so he has to posture. You do not need to...
