RE:Some questions
by Amit K on Aug 09, 2007 05:53 PM

I partly agree wid u dude! Companies certainly do not exist for charity purposes. But then, don't u think that this concept is a 2-way street??? I mean, if u don't believe in GIVING charity, then you have ABSOLUTELY no business ASKING for charity.
If companies don't want to get into the ugly job of encouraging sports in India, that's perfectly alright. But then, they should certainly not ask for free or cheap land, cheap power, tax breaks & other such freebies from the Government. Doesn't asking for all this amount to begging/charity????
By all means, provide sports facilities for your employees - no one has any business questioning that - but not on free/cheap land given by the Government. If these companies & their promoters have self-respect, let them purchase the land at the market price, ask for no freebies and then let them construct watever they want on that land, for their valuable employees(even a brand new TajMahal, if they so wish!)
