Jayakrishna's letter talks about the credentials of the author.I think this a very important point. Why can't we know the credentials of the columnists? Unlike the real hard sciences like Physics, Maths, Chemistry etc. etc. its easier to spout some economic mumbo jumbo and get away with it . Why not show us the credentials of the columnists especially when they talk about such subjects as economics ( as opposed to bridal dress of Ash )? Also once the bona fides are available we can have some idea about the authors contribution in scholarly journals by going through the citation index of his published works quite easily available to many of us here in the rediff community. This will help us in putting the author's comments in proper perspective.
