In the latest study, the highest number of poor live in UP followed by Bihar. But the highest percentage of poor (with respect to th etotal population of the state) live in Maharashtra!!!! Marathis have a wrong notion of their prosperity; Mumbai is not Maharashtra... there are districts like Latur too. They have another wrong notion too that Mumbai pays 40% of taxes to the centre is bullshit. The fact is most of corporate hq of comapnies arein Mumbai. these comanies have factories in Bihar, Orisa, Bengal, UP, Himachal and all over the world. The workers and managers in all those factores are local and all over india. These companies, with their HQ in Mumbai file their tax returns in Mumbai only, as simple as that.
