I think Arjun Singh is a moron.After playing caste-based politics in higher education and literally denigrating the entire selection procedure in IITs and IIMs,the man now wants to stop globalising education in India.You may not open up elementary or secondary education for FDI,saying you have the ability to mould young minds and opening that to foreign influences might corrupt the youth n bla bla bla....but higher education in India is seriously in need of an overhaul..the Universities do not have enough funding to pursue research proposals...and its true that a lotta ppl are goin to N.America for their higher studies coz masters and PhD courses in India suck big time.if you allow foreign universities to set up campuses in India,theres a possibilty of this trend going down.All the people who decry about brain drain n everything should actually be supporting this.....I myself am planning to apply to the US for my masters course....if I can get the same level of education in India....one it would be cheaper for me n I dont need to go like 10000 miles away from my family....plz somebody talk sense into Mr HRD Minister though
