No to Chinese FDI
by KARTIK on Oct 13, 2006 03:46 AM

In this competitive world where India and China are looking to become super powers it would really foolish to borrow money from our competitor. Because China can pull out of such critical project any time. Also when they would have access to confidential documents such as blueprints of the project which are very handy when, GOD forbid, there is war between the two nations. Can you rule that out? It would be as foolish to be assured that China can never attack us. Remember the border dispute is not yet resolved. We have already lost Aksai Chin before, I hope we wont lose Arunachal next time on.

China was rightly categorized as enemy number one by former Defence Minister George Fernandes. Do we answer to the railway project that has taken place few weeks back connecting mainland China with Tibet. That project has enabled Chinese military right into throat of the country in war. The military advantage that they have acquired, will take long time for us to catch up. I hope the UPA govt is listening.

China has slowly but steadily getting into building ports for our neighbours like Pakistan, Bangaldesh and Sri Lanka. They are watching us. Are we prepared for this? Jai Hind!
