Yes, Indian airports deserve international standards in todays context and in order to achieve such heights they need international and experienced players to mould them. What india has at the moment and what it actually deserves are at opposite extremes ex. Mumbai ranks the second dirtiest International Airport following Boston. I think AAI is not capable enough to modernise our four major airports in Delhi, mumbai, chennai and kolkata. where in they can go ahead with other airports like in second tier cities ahmedabad, amritsar, etc.,
