Do the modernisation not the privatisation
by Shyam Sunder Patil on Jan 31, 2006 06:03 PM

It is not essential to give the airports in the hands of privatise companies. Only by giving the airports in the private hands how can one expect that Delhi and Mumbai airports would become world class airports. We can see the examples of privatisation of electricty in delhi, what the situation has improved in delhi, everyone can see this. There are lots of other examples also.

Instead of privatisation of airports, my opinion is that the work of modernisation be done through Airports Authority of India. AAI has the enough technical expertise of doing the airport related works. Only AAI can do the modernisation work since it has technical expertise and also financially it is sufficient to do all the modernisation work of Delhi and Mumbai airports.

Therefore, all the process of modernisation work may be done through only Airports Authority of India not through private companies which only make money for themselves. They will also not be in favour of airports employees. Hence I am strongly against the privatisation of the Delhi and Mumbai Airports. DO THE MODERNISATION NOT THE PRIVATISATION.
