Indian technology and industry are finding themselves in a refreshingly new and challenging environment, driven by globalization. The worldwide competition in delivering products and services successfully to the satisfaction of the users of different cultures is bound to drive people to think of doing things differently. The culture of conservatism and acceptance of the status quo has to be replaced by the culture of innovation, a way of life that considers the users needs and ease as important. The mindset of innovation, as called for by Premji, can only be imbibed when schools and colleges, as well as other productive organizations make it a custom to encourage and challenge the youth to think freely and independently and invite new ideas and solutions to the various activities of life.
