First of all the Finance Ministry officials donot care for public opinion. Nobody replies to the suggestions nor to any proposals. There are large number of wizards who can turn around the sick economy which is sick now too. You will find people unable to meet their ends and at the same time you show them a carrot saying that they can prosper like others. These are dual approaches. We are paying service tax of 12.5% each and everywhere and the nett tax burden is about 42.5% or so at the highest bracket. Let the finance ministry reduce the income tax burden because it s earning too much through service tax. The Railway Ministry had Re.1/= as surcharge for many years. It was like 65 lakhs per day due to 65 lakh commuters daily and the railways are flushed with surplus money.If there is One rupee surcharge on every Indian it is 1 billion a day due to 1 billion population and in 365 days it will be 365 billions. Where does this money go. We see the roads are surfaced and immediately dug up and again the contractor makes money. New tender is called for surfacing and again after surfacing a new agency dugs up the road and again a new tender is published.Somebody mints money.
