i m an Btech student and strongly feel against this QUota issue. When our constitution granted reservation to SC/Sts they were indeed quite backward & it was taken as a short term action which would be turned down when they r at par bt this actually never happened. now the only thing happening is politics....the actually targeted people really never got the benefit and this LOOP HOLE was used by others to have the best at the least cost. What i hv observed in technical institutes is tht majority ofthe students coming from sc/st quota r belonging to rich families who get facilities more than an avg student bt still aren't really doing tht good....the outcome is tht who really deserved the seat r always in the waiting list or no list as such.
so pls even if plan to give reservation do it for the people in need of it nt the so called creamy layer. the reservation must b salary /income based rather then caste based
