While it is true that there is no value is reservation of seats for any category, leave lone OBCs, it is inevitable.

Whether we like it or not, people were suppressed and did not have equal opportunities in the past. And now, when they have political muscle, these people are going to seek extra-ordinary benefits.

Unfortunately for SC/ST and OBCs when they were suppressed, they did not fight back- either they were too weak or did not even care about being suppressed in the past. Now, when they can, they will do the same to others.

However, the so called forward communities have the teeth to fight back now and they will do so. It is a question of survival at one level and a question of keeping their lead and advantage at another level.

The two sides will use all kinds of arguments to support their cause. However, there is no point in trying to find merit in such arguments.

Those who have the numbers will win.

Ultimately, it may be better to reserve seats and jobs as % proportion of a caste/ religion over total population! We can at least save on examiniation, interviews and such "unnecessary" processes.
